Do we have in this County – Equality of Beliefs?

Monday, November 19th, 2007

The question often raised is: Should Evolution and Creation get equal airtime in the schools? And in many people’s mind, the choice seems to be “No! Because one science and the other fairy tales?” they defend their answer with. That is a fair question and one the Lost World Museum would like to weigh in on.

We feel strongly that each person should have the right to make up their own mind on the question of origins without ridicule.

Recently I watched a creationist and evolutionist in a debate and one thing seems to be happening so consistently that no one even realizes it. It happens with every issue argued about between creationists and evolutionists….Interpretation of the evidence.  Here’s one example:

The evolutionist said that we have back problems because we used to walk on all fours. And although I can’t remember the creationist’s response, this is enough to show what is happening.

Now imagine a 3 column work sheet. First you have the fact column, on the left side as a column you have a creationist interpretation, and of the right and evolutionist interpretation.

The fact is that many people have back problems. Now an evolutionist should have the right to postulate that people have back problems because we used to walk on all fours, but it should be acknowledged that they have left the fact column.  And a creationist should have just the same right to say that many people have back problems because we are overweight, lazy and have a lifestyle that is not conducive to healthy backs OR they could answer it with: as a result of thousands of years of an earth suffering the results of sin. And the creationist should be able to say this without ridicule.

In this example BOTH evolutionists and Creationist have left the middle fact column in order to spin (Interpret) the fact column their way. Neither should be on stronger footing.  There are no facts or evidence that could ever prove either philosophy 100%. There is only interpretation of those evidences,  and both sides should be welcome to their opinion.

The Origins “Hot Potato” and Creationists are “Idiots”

Monday, November 19th, 2007

One very interesting thing to notice in the origins issue is the tremendous volatility of the topic. The very existence of such hostility indicates what???  I will leave it you to postulate why it is that everyone is so unwilling to let the other side think the way they do.  But does one side seem to have more of a need to suppress the other? Is one side hotter under the collar than the other? And if so why?

Why can’t this issue be comparable to: “What kind of ice cream do you like? I like chocolate. Oh, I prefer strawberry.” Why is it that when I Google “Creationists are Idiots“ that the’re no lack for responses. But when I google “Evolutionists are idiots“…nothing?

By NO means am I saying that there are not hotheaded creationists.  I have seen at least one for myself and it’s never pretty when someone belittles another.   But from even a cursory examination, there seems a weighted tendency here.

One such website says, “But creationism is for idiots, a pathetic, blinkered, morally and intellectually bankrupt substitution for thought, one that presents a sad, limited view of the universe.”

Another more polite website says, “Despite massive scientific corroboration for evolution, roughly half of all Americans believe that God created humans within the last 10,000 years.  This widespread refusal to accept evolution can drive some academics into a fury. I’ve heard biologists call anti-evolutionists “idiots,” “lunatics”…. and worse. But the question remains: How do we explain the mass public’s stubborn resistance to Darwinism?”

This is not an article to tell you how or what to think why there is such volatility within this topic. I simply want you to look for it next time you enter or observe a “debate” between the philosophies.  And ask yourself, no matter what your belief, “Why does what the other person says, matter so much to me?”

Is Genesis an Historical Account or a Fable?

Thursday, June 1st, 2006

Are the first 10 chapters of Genesis historically valid?  The topics to explore this question that we will be reporting on are Noah’s Ark, Giants Humans, Ooparts (out of place artifacts), Ancient Technology and Anomalous Fossils.

Noah’s Ark
People are fascinated with this topic.  Are the evolutionists interested as well? Would Noah’s Ark found prove Genesis 7?

A group of evolutionist bloggers were asked, “What if a 600-foot wood boat, carbon dated to 5,000 years, were found atop Mount Ararat Turkey just where the Bible states it is, would that be proof enough?”  Their response was a resounding, “NO!” and they continued, “It only proves that a giant boat is atop of a mountain, period.” I asked myself, Does it really? Well, technically they are correct. However, what would such a stupendous find like that really mean?

Giant Humans
Another proof I believe is finding and displaying giant human remains. I’m talking about the over 10 foot tall kind. The Bible indicates we started 6,000 years ago tall and strong and have trimmed down thru environmental de-evolution since. I believe fossilized evidence of a skull 36 inches in circumference would build a case for the creation account found in Genesis. But the critics still maintain that this only proves that one or some humans were of extraordinary size. Nothing more. But again I have to ask, what does a giant human really mean? Does it again point to Genesis or evolution?

Ancient technology
Anytime you dig up something too advanced for the time it was found in, to me enforces the idea that man before and after the flood had enormous intellects and sadly dumbed down over the last 4500 years.

When anything odd or advanced is unearthed, the fragments of ancient technological wonders have been assigned by some kind of alien intervention, but most dismiss these artifacts altogether. What does it all mean?

Conclusion
When you begin to add it all up: Giant People, Noahs Ark, Ancient Technology and Anomalous Fossils, does it seem to suggest a monkey-like creature with stone tools? Or does it fit better with world of genius giants wiped out by a caticlismic flood and then to rise again in prominence leaving behind evidences we see today of their greatness only to after lose it’s almost super-natural abilities by succeding generations who did not inherit these qualities?  If the first few pages of Genesis, a book found in the Old Testament, is an accurate historical record of our beginnings, then we have a grand adventure awaiting us to explore.

$10,000 Reward For The Pedro Mummy (Has Been Removed)

Tuesday, May 23rd, 2006

In 2005 a $10,000 Reward for Pedro Mountain Mummy appeared in the headlines in the news around the world.  The AP story circulated as their readers were introduced to a little known, little man affectionately named after the Wyoming mountain range he was discovered in 1932.

Paleo-anthropology is a fascinating subject where piecing together the skulls and artifacts allows us a peek into the history of mankind. Pedro was a bit of an anomaly. The facts are Pedro was a mummified human and only 14″ tall! The many scientists who examined the mini-mummy were divided. The anthropologist group said Pedro was a diseased baby. But medical doctors and radiologists thought Pedro was a full-grown adult. To make matters worse he was stolen in 1950 and not heard of since.

Unless the mini-man surfaced, the testing necessary to discover what he is would never be solved. So the Museum offered $10,000 reward for his return.  If after a CAT scan and full examination by medical professionals and IF found to be a fully grown man, then this could suggest that the Native American legends of the “Little People” might in fact be true. It would also challenge the evolutionary family tree. Which branch would the mummy fit ? And are there more of these waiting to be found???

Although leads resulted from the news story, they did not help materialize the little man. However certain positive developments have resulted over the last next several years with a series of events we will report on in the future.

Update: As of April 19th 2018 the $10,000 REWARD was now been officially removed.

Did a Dinosaur Swallow A Man…? April Fools!

Saturday, May 13th, 2006

On April 1, 1999. An evolutionist group out of New Mexico, published on the Internet a dinosaur fossil appearing to be having a human for lunch. If true this amazing discovery would/could shock the evolutionary world. Because in the evolutionary theory, man and dino are separated by 65 million years. Meaning man and dino did NOT co-exist.

Creationists jumped on this immediately and referred to this new “evidence” as proof that man and dino did co-exist thus supporting the young age theory of the earth.

The whole thing was an elaborate April Fools joke and many evolutionists got a good chuckle at the expense of watching creationists embarrass themselves because they did not investigate this any further than pointing to a screen with a series of photos that appeared to be something extraordinary that supported their cause.

Who wouldn’t want a fossil like this in their camp? It would be the holy grail of creationist paleontology. Perhaps someday a fossil like this will be found, but until then creationists need to be more thorough in their investigation and analysis of the evidence.
