Shroud of Turin – Burial Cloth of Jesus?

Saturday, April 3rd, 2010

Apparently those who believe in its authenticity are going to great lengths to map out digitally and recreate this human image, graphically embedded in cloth, into a 3D equivalent which is going on display in Turin, Italy April 10th-May 23rd 2010.

Yes that’s right in order to see every nuance this supposed image of Christ the curator’s will be passing out 3D glasses to attendees and giving an opportunity to study this one-of-a-kind artifact themselves in the third dimension.

Is the Shroud of Turin a hoax? Can the image really be the energy of a Devine being, being released at death, like an x-ray, captured in fabric? Is it really the burial cloth of Christ?

Here’s the problem, the New Testament records that the grave cloths were in 2 pieces: 1.) Head cloth 2.) Body cloth, wrapped around the deceased person’s body. The Shroud of Turin however is one long piece that begins at the feet, travels up and around the head and back down the back side to the feet again as one complete covering.

Also carbon dating suggests an age of around 1260-1390A.D.  Christ died around 34 A.D.

So as much as one may want to believe it’s evidence of God, we believe it’s a hoax.  Whether it was created to fool people or to honor God cannot be determined, the artist never recorded his or her intensions for us to consider.

A.D. 1440 Vinland Map Vindicated!

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

Vinland Map Version_1_333kb In school, we were taught Christopher Columbus discovered America in 1492.  However many evidences have been presented  attempting  to dethrone the traveling Italians honor.

The “anomalous” american discoveries vying to contradict and prove of an earlier eastern arrival such as ancient stone works, mysterious coins with dates before his arrival, Mid-West Egyptian like hieroglyphics etched in stone did not possess the strength of argument to overturn such a deeply held prized distinction…until mid 2009.

The Vinland map has been known since 1957. Written on parchment and ink, this map shows the outlines of Europe and parts of Africa. However as you scan to the west your eye easily recognizes Iceland and a bit more to the left and there is Greenland. But keep traveling across the ocean what do we see…New Foundland?  What is a section of North America doing on a map carbon dated at 1440?  That’s a half a century before the Queen gave Chris the green light for his own gig.

The latest analysis completed by the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts announced July 17, 2009 declared the map is real, not a hoax. That may make some uncomfortable as one significant piece of history would need to be rewritten. This map adds another piece of evidence that the Vikings were perhaps the first to Discover America as early as 1000 A.D.

What this all means is not all the pieces of the anthropological puzzle have been discovered nor have they been assembled without the possibility of having to go back and rewrite history. Time will tell it’s tale, if we let it.

Pedro Mountain Mummy Reward Has Been Removed

Tuesday, May 23rd, 2006

In 2005 a $10,000 Reward for Pedro Mountain Mummy appeared in headlines in the news around the world.  The AP story circulated as their readers were introduced to a little known, little man identified with the Wyoming mountain range he was discovered in 1932.

Paleo-anthropology is a fascinating subject where piecing together the skulls and artifacts allows us a peek into the history of mankind. Pedro was a bit of an anomaly. Facts are, Pedro was a mummified human and only 14″ tall!  Many scientists who examined the mini-mummy were divided. Anthropologist groups said Pedro was a diseased baby. But medical doctors and radiologists thought Pedro was a full-grown adult. To make matters worse he was stolen in 1950 and not heard of since.

Unless this mini-man surfaces, the testing necessary to discover what he and solve this mystery will never come to be. So the Museum offered $10,000 reward for his return.  If after a CAT scan and full examination by medical professionals and IF found to be a fully grown man, then this could suggest that the Native American legends of the “Little People” might in fact be true. It would also challenge the evolutionary family tree. Which branch would this mummy fit ? And are there more of these waiting to be found???

Although leads resulted from the news story, they did not help materialize the little man. However certain positive developments have resulted over the last next several years with a series of events we will report on in the future.

Update: As of April 19th 2018 the $10,000 REWARD was now been officially removed.
